Catching Up With Hillary Clinton

No, she isn't slacking. I am the one who needed additional mental health time moving into the new year - which promises to be a bitch!

To start, no. We are not going to entertain the perpetual investigations into the Clinton Foundation which saves lives and eyesight, aids farmers - including and especially women farmers, provides access to safe food cookers, fights animal trafficking and poaching, and provides HIV-AIDS medication. Been there. Saw that. Nothing new to discover there.

Neither is there anything worth discussing about any private servers or emails. The fire at the Secret Service facility on the Clinton property did not erupt in a roomful of secret servers. It was a shorted bathroom fan that set off the alarm.

Hillary, meanwhile, is still fighting for Congress to pass CHIP, and you can join her in the battle here >>>>.

She also sent this email out.

Thank you again for your generous donation to Onward Together in 2017. With your help, we were able to support eleven groups doing critical work toward making our country stronger and more fair.
You’ve already been introduced to the first round of organizations. Today, I wanted to tell you a little bit about some of the newer members of the Onward Together family:
The organizers at iVote worked with partners on the ground to get automatic voter registration on the ballot in Nevada in 2017. 450 brand-new civic leaders and activists attended The Arena’s very first summit -- and they're on track to train 5,000 people by the end of 2018. At the Alliance for Youth Action, young people are using local organizing to address economic inequality, attacks on voting rights, and more. The team at Latino Victory Fund is working to elect more Latino candidates at every level of government. More than 400 students and leaders met last month at the Voto Latino Power Summit to share resources and tools for national advocacy. And with the help of Collective Future, 23 African-American candidates have been elected to local, state, and federal offices since August 2016.,
Along with Indivisible, Color of Change, Emerge America, Swing Left, and Run for Something, I know these groups will continue to do the incredible work of making our democracy stronger in 2018, and I'm proud to be on their team. We’re only able to support these organizations because of you, so one more time, thank you.
If you're still with us in 2018, add your name right now, and let's do even more together.
Onward,
Hillary
So no. In 2018, you will not find unnecessary refutation of lies about Hillary, the Clintons, or the foundation. You will continue to see posts about Hillary's work, words, and events. That is what this blog has always been about and we foresee no reason to leap into a cesspool just because the current administration and his party have tried to flush used Pampers down the White House lavatories.

Manchester: Crucible of Concern for Children

In the wake of the diabolical attack on tweens attending last night's Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, we are likely to see an outpouring of sympathy from all sides. Here is what Donald Trump said.

Many Republicans will probably echo his message.

Before they go superimposing the Union Jack on their avatars and offering their "thoughts and prayers," Republicans should make an examination of conscience. Those who voted for Trump and this GOP Congress also voted for the budget that plans to make $616 billion (with a "b") cuts to children's healthcare and Medicaid, according to The New York Times.
Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program: $616 billion
Changes to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program would save the federal government money, but would reduce the number of people with insurance. Medicaid savings are estimated at $610 billion over 10 years. The administration would shift some costs to the states, by setting annual limits on federal payments to each state, starting in 2020.

Chemical attacks in Syria, where children are among a plurality of the victims, and terrorist attacks like the one in Manchester are, of course, outrageous. Children should be protected  and safe.

But Republicans are waging a war of life or death here at home against children and low income families. Nothing can be more hypocritical than Donald Trump's remarks about the children of Syria and Manchester when the health of American children is at risk.

Donald Trump campaigned on an "America First" platform. Crocodile tears for children who are attacked en masse and visibly are meaningless when our own children are put in peril by heartless legislation.

Hillary Clinton, as First Lady, fought hard to get health care insurance for children (Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). From Politifact.
The late-Sen. Kennedy received much of the credit for CHIP because the Massachusetts Democrat shepherded the legislation through a Republican-controlled Congress. Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch was the lead Republican co-sponsor.
Yet, in 2007, Kennedy told the Associated Press that Hillary Clinton played a critical role.
"The children's health program wouldn't be in existence today if we didn't have Hillary pushing for it from the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue," Kennedy said.
Nick Littlefield, a senior health adviser to Kennedy at the time, agreed.
"She wasn't a legislator, she didn't write the law, and she wasn't the president, so she didn't make the decisions," Littlefield told the Associated Press. "But we relied on her, worked with her and she was pivotal in encouraging the White House to do it."

During the 2016 campaign Hillary said, "When it's your kid it's a big deal. It should be a big deal for your president, too."

Apparently it is a big deal for Trump and for the GOP - a big deal budget cut! This budget is a form of terrorism. When you leave families and kids in fear and destitution in the face of disease and disability, you are a terrorist.

So until these cuts to CHIP,  Medicaid, and other social programs (e.g. SNAP, and disability) are removed from this budget, let's reject the hypocritical sentiments and hand-wringing from Republicans of every stripe - including our friends on social media who voted for this bunch. No teary emoticons :'( . No Union Jack avatars. No candles. No b**s**t!

Protect our own kids before you go crying about others. What happened to America First?

“Resist, insist, persist, enlist.”  Call your Reps! Call your Senators.

Children's Health Fund to Honor Hillary Clinton

As First Lady, Hillary Clinton helped establish the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which provides coverage for eight million children.  To celebrate her advocacy, the Children's Health Fund will honor Hillary this Spring at their annual benefit.  Our best compliments, Mme. Secretary, on this well-deserved honor! Added bonus, Bernie Williams will accompany Paul Simon at this event!

Clinton will be honored with the American Heroes for Children Award, and will deliver the keynote speech at the event. CHF board member Jane Pauley will be honoured with the CHF Pioneers Award, and CHF co-founder Paul Simon will perform. Paul Simon will be joined by former New York Yankee and guitarist Bernie Williams.

Also being honoured at the event are CHF supporter Dr. David Dines and long-time corporate partner Morgan Stanley.

The event takes place at Cipriani 42nd Street in NYC on Tuesday, May 23.

Hillary Clinton Models Katy Perry's 'Hillary Clinton' Shoe Design (Lucite Heel and All)

Katy Perry/Instagram

Over the course of her life, Hillary Clinton has had many important titles bestowed upon her. Of course, she was the First Lady of the United States for eight years, the Senator of New York for eight years, Secretary of State for four, and the first woman to ever be chosen as a major party’s nominee for President.
Now she can add “fashion muse” and “footwear model” to the list, thanks to Katy Perry, who designed a pair of pumps in her honor, dubbing them The Hillary. And when Clinton got her hands on a pair of the baby pink pumps, she was more than happy to show them off to their best effect for Perry’s Instagram.

Cute for Easter, they are affordable and come in small sizes, too!  Before I take any more abuse for talking about Hillary's shoes, yes we do talk about such accessories on men too!  I have seen lots of comments about extra-long neck ties that do not camouflage a big gut.
