When high-powered Washington women sit down for a fireside chat, they it just like the men do, but in a ballroom and in heels.
Fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg hosted her 11th-annual DVF Awards in Washington instead of New York Wednesday night, and the marquee honoree sitting down for a “fireside chat” at the Library of Congress was Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Hillary Clinton is to be the new chancellor of Queen's University, Belfast (QUB).

She is the university's 11th chancellor and first woman to take up the post.

In a statement, Mrs Clinton said it was a "great privilege" to become the chancellor of QUB.

She takes up her role immediately and will serve for a period of five years.

PARK RIDGE, Ill. — Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton returned home to Park Ridge Friday, to view a documentary of her life and talk with local students.
A packed house of elementary, middle, and high school students joined Clinton at the Pickwick Theatre to preview the Park Ridge Historical Society's exhibit, the "Trailblazing Women of Park Ridge." The exhibit is set to open in the spring of 2020, and will honor Clinton along with three other women.
A new documentary chronicling Clinton's experiences in Park Ridge also premiered at the event.

The Friends of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve presented the inaugural John D. Rockefeller Jr. Park Preservation Award to former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton of Chappaqua.
The Clintons were honored on June 22 during the Friends Annual Gala at the Rockefeller Estate in Pocantico Hills.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton highlighted the Martin and Coretta King Unity Breakfast on Sunday at Wallace Community College-Selma.
Clinton received the 2019 International Unity Award and was inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame by former Senator Hank Sanders and his wife, Rose Sanders.
“Women have a hard time when they seek position of power and fight for women’s rights,” Hank Sanders said. “She had to fight to become a Senator and fight to become Secretary of State.”
The capacity crowd in WCCS Gymnasium gave a thunderous standing ovation for Clinton, a former U.S. Presidential candidate in the Democrat party. The former First Lady connected the two honors.

A newly finished hall in a building undergoing construction in the Hudson Valley has been dedicated to former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The 19th century historic three-floor brick building will soon be home to the Rockland Pride Center. Hillary Clinton made a rare public appearance Thursday in the Hudson Valley to advocate for the LGBTQ community in Nyack.
The center will offer counseling, support and medical services to the LGBTQ community.
The Hillary Rodham Clinton Hall of Social Justice is the first part of the center that has been finished, and Clinton's appearance at the hall is part of a capital campaign to raise money to complete the building.

Hillary Clinton is headlining the 2019 Selma Bridge Crossing Jubilee hosted Feb. 28–March 4, at which she plans to announce her support of the national initiative Lift Our Vote 2020.
At the jubilee, Clinton will be awarded the International Unity Award as well as inducted into the National Voting Rights Museum Women’s Hall of Fame.
She will also be giving several speeches throughout the days-long event, including at the Martin and Coretta King Unity Breakfast on the Wallace Community College Selma campus at 7:30 a.m. on March 3 and at the Historic Brown Chapel AME Church.

She will then participate in the Bloody Sunday March.

With the addition of an inscription recognizing the local roots of former senator, secretary of state, presidential candidate and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Park Ridge Heritage Committee has completed its wall of local, historic milestones.
The Heritage Committee announced on Jan. 25 that it had completed its Milestones of History project at Hodges Park with the addition of a block noting Park Ridge native Clinton’s 2016 candidacy for president.
The inscription on the granite stone, which is one of 34 surrounding the park’s Campfire Girls Fountain, also identifies Clinton as U.S. secretary of state, U.S. senator, first lady of the United States and a 1965 graduate of Maine South High School.
It is the last stone in the series to be inscribed.

Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton has unveiled a statue of Eleanor Roosevelt, the human rights champion, at Oxford University.
The unveiling took place at the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights, Mansfield College, as part of a two-day programme to honour the 70^th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton delivered an impassioned speech about the merits of democracy during a special visit to Dublin.

She was being recognised with an Honorary Doctorate at Trinity College Dublin and spoke to a crowd at the university's Edmund Burke Theatre, an audience including students, activists and politicians, including former Tanaiste Frances Fitzgerald.

The hour long engagement was sprinkled with signature Hillary presentation: discussing the ongoing fight for women's rights, the increasingly powerful influence over the West by Russia with just the right amount of humour.
"A lot has happened since I was last in Ireland. I became a grandmother twice over, which is just about the greatest thing in th world. As you may have heard, I ran for president. The grandparenting went great, but the other part, not so much," she said.

Wikimedia CommonsFormer classmates of Hillary Rodham Clinton LAW ’73 are working with the Law School’s development office to create a fund in Clinton’s honor, a year and a half after the former secretary of state’s historic defeat in the 2016 presidential election.
Rosalind Fink LAW ’72 — a former classmate of Clinton who is helping spearhead the new Hillary Rodham Clinton Fund for the Public Interest — said she expects two recent Yale graduates doing “public interest work” to receive year-long fellowships from the fund next fall, once the Law School formally announces its creation.
Although the development of the fund remains at an early stage, Fink said the project’s ultimate goal is to raise money for the Law School to create more legal clinics, which give law students hands-on experience working with clients on complex issues like immigration.

Veronica Guerrero LAW ’20 noted that Clinton is one of the school’s most famous alumni. And while she is a political figure, Guerrero said, the Law School should honor Clinton as someone who has used her law degree to help the country. She added that having a fund named for Clinton is exciting given that “law tends to honor a lot more men.”

Clinton is slated to give this year’s Class Day speech in May.

Radcliffe Dean Lizabeth Cohen called Clinton a “champion for human rights” and for the welfare of all, a “skilled legislator,” and “an advocate of American leadership to create a world in which states live up to their responsibilities.”
A former first lady, Clinton served as a U.S. senator from New York from 2001 to 2009 before taking over as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. She was the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in 2016, the first woman candidate for that office from a major political party.
“Hillary Clinton’s life and career are an inspiration to people around the world,” said Cohen, who is also the Howard Mumford Jones Professor of American Studies in Harvard’s Department of History. “We commend Secretary Clinton for her accomplishments in the public sphere as a champion for human rights and the welfare of all, as a skilled legislator, and as an advocate of American leadership to create a world in which states — to quote Secretary Clinton — ‘have clear incentives to cooperate and live up to their responsibilities, as well as strong disincentives to … sow discord and division.’ We salute her commitment to a life of public service and the resilience it takes to live and work in the public eye.”

Hillary Clinton to Boston crowd: Teach kids kindness

Hillary Clinton took a break last night from her book tour about her loss in the presidential election to promote the value of “kindness” and mentorship to children.
Before an audience of about 500 at the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston’s annual gala at the Museum of Fine Arts, Clinton said the reason she is so devoted to doing what she can on behalf of children, particularly those who are vulnerable, is because of her mother.
Clinton has spent much of the past few months on the road around the nation touting her book, “What Happened,” blaming her 2016 presidential loss on Russian interference, and denouncing President Trump. She sounded a different note at last night’s event.
