Remarks With Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai Before Their Meeting
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of StateTreaty Room
Washington, DC
May 10, 2010
SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, I’m delighted to welcome the prime minister back to Washington. We had very productive meetings last time when he was here. We continue to support the efforts for reform and positive changes inside Zimbabwe. And of course, the prime minister has played a major role in attempting to move his country on the right path. So again, welcome, Prime Minister.
PRIME MINISTER TSVANGIRAI: Thank you very much.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you very much. Good to see you.
PRIME MINISTER TSVANGIRAI: Good to see you again.
QUESTION: Mr. Prime Minister, how important or how significant is it that Roy Bennett was acquitted today?
PRIME MINISTER TSVANGIRAI: Well, it’s good news. It’s very positive. As I’ve always said, he’s not being prosecuted; he’s being persecuted. So I hope that the persecution has ended.
QUESTION: But there are many other steps needed to restore confidence in the unity government, right?
PRIME MINISTER TSVANGIRAI: Obviously, obviously. There’s more to do.
QUESTION: Thank you very much.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Thank you.
PRIME MINISTER TSVANGIRAI: Thank you.

VOA Video of Hillary in South Africa
This is not new. It is a flashback to August when Hillary was in Africa. Since I just found it, and it is a slow Hillary weekend, I though I would share it.
