Oh Vanity Un-Fair! Did You Think We Were Sleeping?

Hillary told us to take a break, which we are! But this is a bridge too far! Why this publication attacks the only 2016 candidate with substantive plans on many issues -the one who won the popular vote - would be a mystery if it were not common practice. It's just more of the same old sexist manure!

Hillary is not going to run for office again, but she remains a force to be reckoned with for those who seek to disable democracy in this country. Her voice is strong. She reinforces our values. Her dedication never waivers. She continues to fight for the weakest among us.

Vanity Fair, you should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton, history-maker, will not be silenced! As my long-time friend, Jen Michigander, has said since 2008, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!" Certainly not you!
Not funny, if that was what you were going for, and frankly well below your supposed intellect! The Power of the Purse Compels You to retract this nonsense!

Hillary Clinton's Surprise Movie Cameo!

If you are a regular visitor here, the new movie "The To Do List" might not normally be your preferred summer film fare.   But,  set in 1993, with a late-adolescent theme,  it features a main character whose hands-down shero, as indicated in the review below, is none other than our very own icon of feminist accomplishment, then FLOTUS, Hillary Rodham Clinton!  Given that some readers may well have been that young high school graduate in those days, it may be a "To See Movie" this summer  - especially if they still have drive-in movies near you!

The To Do List may be the only sex comedy ever filmed in which Hillary Clinton figures prominently. The very funny feature, from writer/director Maggie Carey, stars deadpan Parks and Recreation princess Aubrey Plaza as an uncharacteristically optimistic Type A high-school student. Upon graduation, Plaza’s character, Brandy Klark, realizes that she has fallen unacceptably short in one area—sex education—and vows to complete a “to do list” of physical challenges before the summer ends. Set in 1993, the film co-stars Connie Britton as Brandy’s mother, Bill Hader as her boss, Johnny Simmons as her lab partner, and Hillary Clinton—Brandy’s idol—as herself. Although she does not appear in person, and may not have any idea about her cameo, the former Secretary of State is regularly pictured hanging in a frame on Brandy’s bedroom wall, where she unknowingly chaperones Plaza’s onscreen exploration of the R-rated unknown.

A Profile of Hillary Clinton in June Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair's June issue contains a new profile of Hillary Clinton by Jonathan Alter. It is, like the various feature articles we have seen about HRC since she has been Secretary of State, part behind-the-scenes information, and part explanation and admiration of the job she is doing. As with the other feature articles about Hillary, the fact that I read this online will not prevent me from hopping the highway to Barnes and Noble to purchase my collector's copy. Thank you, Mr. Alter! Nice article!

Politics

Woman of the World

In her ninth year as America’s most admired woman, Hillary Clinton is dealing with radical change across the globe, as well as trying to transform U.S. diplomacy on the nuts-and-coffee level. But despite the secretary of state’s punishing pace—half a million miles in her Boeing 757—and the complex relationship between her and President Obama, Clinton seems clear about what she can (and can’t) accomplish, and, as Jonathan Alter reports, her friends are clear about something else: Madam Secretary is in her element.
