In addition to these public appearances, there were a few social engagements in July that caught some attention.  On the 22nd she and her date were spotted at a local production of King Lear.   There was an evening out in New York City, and a nostalgic breakfast with Joe Biden  -   a reprise of a Tuesday morning tradition when she was secretary of state.   To cap off July, she had lunch at the White House with the president which all of Washington buzzed.

Hillary Clinton Addresses Delta Sigma Theta

The nation's largest African American sorority has been convening this week in Washington D.C.  According to WaPo, their guest speaker this afternoon was the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton.  Delta Sigma Theta, which boasts an enormous membership including many celebrity names,  drew 40,000 members to the capital this week for their 100th anniversary according to WaPo.   Her speech followed a meeting between the president of the sorority, Cynthia Butler-McIntyre,  and President Obama.

White House spokesman Kevin Lewis confirmed that Obama will meet with Cynthia Butler-McIntyre. The conversation will come about two hours before an appearance at the convention by former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will speak during the second-to-last day of the convention, which has brought more than 40,000 members to the District.
