Washington, DC
March 6, 2012

On March 7th, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will address the U.S. Institute of Peace’s U.S.-China Conference. This day-long conference, “The Week That Changed the World: President Nixon’s Historic Trip to China and the Future of U.S.-China Relations,” marks President Nixon’s critical meetings with leaders of the People’s Republic of China 40 years ago. Prior to Secretary Clinton’s address, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will deliver remarks via live video link from Beijing. Secretary Clinton will speak at approximately 4:00 pm.

Other speakers throughout the day include former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and former National Security Advisers Zbigniew Brzezinksi and Brent Scowcroft. Panels throughout the day will feature prominent business leaders, diplomats, journalists, and analysts.
The conference, which is sponsored by the United States Institute of Peace and the Richard Nixon Foundation, in cooperation with the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, will examine the origins of the Nixon’s trip, the current status of the bilateral relationship, and the outlook for the future.
The conference will be live streamed at http://www.usip.org/newsroom/webcasts beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the Secretary’s remarks will also be live streamed at www.state.gov.

This begins Thursday, but I am not sure that will be the evening of the BIG EVENT at which she always speaks.  Will keep you posted.  But that is usually on a Friday,
