The nation's largest African American sorority has been convening this week in Washington D.C. According to
WaPo, their guest speaker this afternoon was the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Delta Sigma Theta,
which boasts an enormous membership including many celebrity names,
drew 40,000 members to the capital this week for their
100th anniversary
according to WaPo. Her speech followed a meeting between the
president of the sorority, Cynthia Butler-McIntyre, and President
Obama.
White House spokesman Kevin Lewis confirmed that Obama will meet with
Cynthia Butler-McIntyre. The conversation will come about two hours
before an appearance at the convention by former secretary of state
Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will speak during the second-to-last day of
the convention, which has brought more than 40,000 members to the
District.

Clinton is offering her prayers for the family of Trayvon Martin and, in
her words, "every family who loves someone who is lost to violence."
Clinton says this week has brought "deep, painful heartache" to many
Americans. She said no mother or father should ever have to fear for a
child walking down a street in the United States. (AP Photo/Cliff Owen)
