In the very local news, Bill and Hillary Clinton, who remained mute
on the mayoral primaries in New York City due to their friends on both
sides of the aisle who were involved, have finally broken their
collective silence with an endorsement that comes as no surprise
whatsoever.
The Clintons, as expected, endorsed Bill de Blasio for New York City mayor.
De Blasio is a former aide in the Clinton Administration and he was
the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s Senate run in 2000.
“Bill
de Blasio has been a friend to both President Clinton and Secretary
Clinton for many years,” their offices said in a joint statement. “They
were proud to see him run a thoughtful, creative campaign about the
issues, and they are behind him as he moves on to the general election
as the Democratic nominee.”
