Chelsea Clinton to Lead ‘Day of Action’ in Denver Ahead of CGI America

Chelsea Clinton, Governor Hickenlooper, Senator Bennet and hundreds of local volunteers to join together to revitalize facilities and complete projects at six nonprofit organizations in the Denver metro area

DENVER, CO – On Sunday, June 22nd, the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, in partnership with Concerts for Kids, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and Project C.U.R.E. will gather hundreds of volunteers for a ‘Day of Action,’ completing service projects across Denver. Following remarks by Clinton Foundation Vice Chair Chelsea Clinton, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Colorado Senator Michael Bennet, volunteers will work with six nonprofit organizations in the Denver metro area, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Denver Parks and Recreation, Food Bank of the Rockies, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Mi Casa Resource Center, and Project C.U.R.E. The six nonprofits—some operating for more than 30 years—provide educational tools, health services, career development, and other critical resources to communities throughout the metro area.

Led by Chelsea Clinton, the volunteers will implement facility improvement projects at the Boys & Girls Club Owen Branch, Denver Parks and Recreation, and Mi Casa Resource Center, restoring classrooms, planting trees, and completing necessary repairs. Volunteers will build new homes with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Volunteers at Food Bank of the Rockies and Project C.U.R.E. will prepare food packages for low income families and sort donated medical supplies.

Founded by Chelsea Clinton in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Clinton Foundation ‘Day of Action’ program seeks to create service opportunities and mobilize volunteers to give back to their communities. This Day of Action will be the first hosted in the region and the tenth overall for the Clinton Foundation, which has mobilized more than 3,000 volunteers to donate more than 16,000 volunteer hours for service projects worldwide.

Here is the agenda for CGI America 2014.
