Shoe-Pitcher Ernst Remanded to Custody, AP Reports

Given that she managed to break past security with a purse containing a shoe that she threw at Hillary Clinton within a 60 foot range for reasons only she apparently knows,  the re-arrest of Alison Michelle Ernst should come as no surprise.  Hillary was not hit and handled the incident with her signature good humor,  but the fact that Ernst and  the purse got past security is unsettling.  Anything could have been in that bag and Ernst got pretty close.


Federal charges were filed on Sunday.

Magistrate orders Phoenix woman accused of throwing shoe at Hillary Clinton to remain detained

PHOENIX — A federal magistrate on Tuesday ordered a Phoenix woman to remain jailed until she is returned to Las Vegas to face federal charges alleging she threw a shoe at Hillary Rodham Clinton during a speech.
Alison Michelle Ernst, 36, read documents, talked to her lawyer and sat on the edge of her seat as she waited for her initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Logan in Phoenix.
