You might have heard that there was a fire today at the Clinton compound in Chappaqua. It was in a Secret Service facility and was quickly contained. No one was injured, and the Clintons were not home at the time.
(CNN) A small fire broke out in a US Secret Service facility on the property of the home of Bill and Hillary Clinton in Chappaqua, New York, on Wednesday.
The building was not connected to the home of the former US President and former US Secretary of State, and the Clintons were not there at the time of the fire, Hillary Clinton Communications Director Nick Merrill tweeted.
The fire was put out and nobody was injured, said Sgt. Arthur Mendoza of the New Castle Police Department.
The former first couple bought the home before Hillary Clinton's successful 2000 run for a US Senate seat. Chappaqua is about 40 miles north of New York City.

The
person being removed by police was a animal rights activist who jumped
the buffer. It is understandable that everyone is a little jumpy after
Trump's remarks yesterday. Clearly the Secret Service agents are on

There is zero chance that Bernie Sanders will be the nominee, and he
won't suspend his campaign. Technically that keeps us all on the hook
for big bucks. All of this is framed by his crusade to "transform" the
Democratic Party - a party he did not stand with for the Senate filibuster.
BURLINGTON, Vt. — When Sen.
Bernie Sanders, the now-vanquished Democratic presidential candidate,
returns to Capitol Hill to vote Monday, he is expected to be accompanied
by his constant traveling companions from the campaign trail: the U.S.
Secret Service.
Although Hillary Clinton has clinched the party’s
nomination, Sanders retains one of the trappings of a top-notch
candidate. A team of agents still guards him at his home, where they’ve
constructed a small watch station on the property. They travel with him
on commercial and charter flights and use a motorcade to whisk him
through cities he visits. And they recently marched alongside him during
a gay-pride event here in his home town after the Orlando shootings.
Such
round-the-clock protection can cost taxpayers more than $38,000 a day.
And with the potential for the Secret Service to be watching over
Sanders through the Democratic convention in Philadelphia five weeks
from now, the taxpayers may get stuck with a big security bill long

democracy, and Saskatchewan's early leadership role in health care were
among the topics covered by Hillary Clinton in Saskatoon Wednesday.
The
former U.S. secretary of state did not quite pack the house at TCU
Place. But close to 2,000 people streamed in to hear a speech by the
woman who is widely expected to make a second bid for the U.S.
presidency.
They paid in the range of $84 to $315 for the privilege.
Clinton
focused most of her formal address on the topic of Islamic extremism —
and how the U.S. and Canada should respond. Coincidentally, it was the
same evening that the Amadiyya Muslim Students' Association was holding a
video presentation and discussion at the University of Saskatchewan, on

Secret Service is following up on recent comments by right wing radio
host Pete Santilli, who claimed to want to shoot former Secretary of
State Hillary Clinton in the vagina and see President Obama tried and
shot for treason.
“We are aware of Mr. Santilli’s comments and
will take the appropriate follow up action,” Edwin M. Donovan, a Secret
Service spokesperson, told TPM on Monday. “He certainly has a right to
free speech, but the Secret Service has a right and an obligation to
determine what a person’s intent is when making comments like this.”
He
made the threatening comments the week before last on his eponymous
Internet based radio program. Santilli is a fringe figure who has made
threatening comments on his program in the past. But he’s gained some
quasi-mainstream attention recently with guests like Ted Nugent and Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt.
