When Hillary visited The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Friday evening, she was greeted with a standing ovation. She addressed many of the same issues she spoke about with Rachel Maddow. I will not revisit those.
On the subject of the Mueller investigation, she did say something on this show that she did not say the other night. It is an important point. She cited a difference between crimes committed prior to assuming office and those committed in office. It is an important distinction. She said a president can be the subject of a criminal investigation. When asked if he can be indicted, she made a distinction between actions before taking office and after taking office. If before, she believes he can be indicted. If after, it then falls under the impeachment process.
While she does have a paperback edition of What Happened out that contains an updated supplement, her real reason, I think, for hitting the talk show circuit is to emphasize that: 1) indeed our democracy is in critical condition and 2) no caped crusader, including her, is going to come swooping in to save it. She made these points on both TV appearances.
We are the only ones who can save it, and there is only one way we are going to be able to do that: get out the vote. Notice I did not say "vote." I said "get out the vote." That means that we have to work as hard as we did in 2016 to get people to the polls. We have to convince them of the importance of this election and talk to them about the candidates who have pledged to address the issues closest to us. We have to remind people toregister before deadlines. We also have to remind people to check their registrations to be sure they have not been purged - sad as that is to say. Finally, we have to make sure we get our friends, families, and neighbors to the polls. When Democrats vote, Democrats win.

(CNN)Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance on Sunday night in a Grammy Awards comedy bit that took a jab at President Trump.
The former presidential candidate, along with Cher, Snoop Dogg, Cardi B, John Legend and DJ Khaled were among those who read excerpts from Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," the hit book about Trump's first year in the White House.
The bit shows Grammy host James Corden holding auditions for the book reading in hopes of nabbing next year's best spoken word album with famous musicians trying out for the coveted role.
Clinton's face was covered by the book when she first appeared on screen in the pre-taped sketch, but the crowd cheered when she lowered the book to reveal her face.
Clinton read the famous line about Trump's love for fast food: "He had a longtime fear of being poisoned. One reason why he liked to eat at McDonalds. No one knew he was coming and the food was safely pre-made."

Hillary joined Stephen Colbert on The Late Show Tuesday night. Emma Stone was there too and was so excited! She brought her book along for Hillary to sign and also got a shot with Hillary to promote her new movie about Billie Jean King. No. It is not a selfie because neither of them took it herself.
Hillary Clinton is adding at least one late-night stop to her upcoming media tour.
The former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential candidate will appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Sept. 19, it was announced Thursday.
This marks her first late-night visit since she was defeated by Donald Trump in the Nov. 2016 presidential election and just her second appearance on Late Show since Colbert succeeded Letterman as host. She previously appeared in October 2015. Read more >>>>
Democratic White House hopeful Hillary Clinton made her first visit to what she called “The Cathedral of Colbert” tonight. “She hasn’t named her running mate yet,” Stephen Colbert said at the top of The Late Show. “Maybe it’s because she wanted to wait and ask him on his talk show.”
Clinton
is the fifth White House hopeful to appear on Colbert’s show since he
debuted on CBS – but the first to whom he has said that, in his previous
late-night show he’d played a conservative gasbag “who didn’t care for
you.”
“It was mutual,” Clinton laughed. Read more >>>>
