Toward the end of the first week her rock star personna emerged in the glossies with discussions of scrunchies and the explosion of the Hillary-meme "Texts' from Hillary." The next week she hosted the 2012 G8 Foreign Ministers Meeting, delivered the Forrestal Lecture at the U.S. Naval Academy, participated in the U.S./Brazil Partnership for the 21st Century, and previewed a film about Aung San Suu Kyi. Then she was wheels up for the long trip to Brussels.
Late in the month, Mme. Secretary was once again named one of Time's "Most Influential." In Brussels, accompanied by Defense Secretary Panetta, she attended the Ad Hoc Minsterial on Syria and was asked about 2016 (which Panetta supported full-throatedly). By the 23rd she was home and headed for Syracuse University where she engaged in a policy conversation with Maxwell School Dean James Steinberg.
Back in D.C. it was more bilaterals with the foreign ministers Carr of Australia and Martinez of El Salvador and a little hop to NYC to appear at Lincoln Center to speak at the Time 100 Gala.
