October commenced with Mme. Secretary still in NYC for a final UNGA event on small states.
She
returned to D.C. the following day to give an address on travel and
tourism. On the third she hosted the U.S.-Afghanistan Bilateral
Commission and presented the McGovern Awards with which she herself had
been honored the previous year.
For
the next several days she worked behind closed doors and emerged on the
10th to receive Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the State Department.
On the 12th she met with Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata and delivered a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).
Home
for the weekend on the 13th she was out and about in Chappaqua with her
best guy and stopped to say hello to their congresswoman Nita Lowey who
was campaigning. These two are so cute together. Note in the second
picture with Lowey they are holding hands.
In Peru on the 15th and 16th she met with
Peruvian President Ollanta Humala, delivered a speech on women as
drivers of growth and inclusion, and sent shock waves around the world
by taking full responsibility for the September 11th events in
Benghazi.
Back in D.C. on the 18th she gave a speech at Georgetown on energy diplomacy.
In the north of Haiti on the 22nd she and her best guy dedicated an industrial park.
There were some State Department events; an awards ceremony and a swearing in of an ambassador, and she met with Brazilian Foreign Minister Patriota.
On the 25th she inaugurated the Work-Life and Family Month Event at the State Department wearing one of my favorite jackets.
She spent her 65th birthday weekend privately and quietly with her family in Connecticut.
Then she was off on foreign travel again - to Algeria and the Balkans.
