In a post about Papua New Guinea earlier today, I commented on the enthusiasm and anticipation with which Mme. Secretary's visits are awaited in nations that have felt shunted to the side by the U.S. over recent years. These images from New Zealand, showing her plane arriving and taxiing, attest to the optimism and eagerness with which residents there awaited her visit. Just the fact that someone took these beautiful shots speaks volumes to me. Once, when I was abroad, I watched a similar plane carrying Andrew Young taking off over my house. It is a powerful thing to see. To say that New Zealand is psyched to have our lovely and accomplished Mme. Secretary as a guest is probably an understatement.
