Upcoming on Hillary Clinton's Agenda: McAuliffe Inauguration
RICHMOND — Two of Gov.-elect Terry McAuliffe’s best and most famous pals, Bill and Hillary Clinton, will be in Richmond Saturday as he takes the oath of office.
McAuliffe, a former Democratic National Committee chairman, has
for decades been a legendary fund-raiser for and a close friend to the
former president and the former first lady and secretary of state.
McAuliffe’s office confirmed Saturday night that the Clintons will attend his inauguration at the Capitol.
There
was no immediate word on whether they will play any special role in the
ceremony or simply be present as McAuliffe, who has never before held
elective office, gets sworn in. Bill Clinton administered the oath of
office to New York Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) last week.
