There is one good thing about 2017. We began in the depths, but we climbed out, started a movement, and Hillary Clinton came out of the woods to encourage us in all of it: the Women's March, The Resistance, Me Too, and all the people - women and men - galvanized by what happened in 2016 to Run For Something and make the kinds of changes that are fair for all and benefit everyone.
One January 1, Hillary was named The Guardian's Person of the Year.

She attended the final performance of The Color Purple on Broadway and received a standing ovation from the audience.

On January 10, she returned to the State Department for the launch of the Diplomacy Center, the first floor of which was dedicated and named the Hillary Rodham Clinton Pavilion.
With more leisure time at her disposal we began seeing her out on the town. She and Bill finally had some time for date nights. This time they doubled with Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen.
This time at a Broadway play, The Humans, with another standing ovation.
Inauguration Day came, and she went. It was not easy. She looked beautiful in suffragette white and wore a lovely smile - most of the time. (The rest of us found smiling harder.)
In recent appearances on talk shows, Hillary has said that the day after the inauguration gave her renewed hope and energy.
