SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, it’s a pleasure to welcome Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner. We work closely, as you know, with every element of the EU. But the Commission is an absolutely essential part of our joint efforts in many humanitarian, development, reconstruction, and other activities. I met with Benita numerous times since I’ve had the honor of being in this office, and it’s wonderful to have her here back in the State Department.
COMMISSIONER FERRERO-WALDNER: Well, thank you very much. First of all, I would like to say we wish, of course, good luck to this courageous Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. And for the rest, indeed, we have been working on many of the important issues: Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and of course, on the other hand, Iran, Russia, the Oriental partnership or Eastern partnership, just to mention a few of them. Maybe we will also speak about Honduras today.
So indeed, we have a huge scope of agenda. And we are also working on development, and maybe in the future also, the development issues will be issues where we can work together in a better way.
SECRETARY CLINTON: Looking forward to it. Thank you all very much.
