In Tunis, Protests Precede Hillary Clinton's Visit

In advance of Secretary Clinton's visit to Tunisia, crowds fill the area in front of the Ministry of Interior in Tunis protesting her visit. I find this difficult to fathom since she has been a supporter of peaceful protesters in all of the Arab Spring Revolutions from the outset, having warned Arab leaders at the Forum for the Future in Morocco on November 3, 2009 and again in Doha on January 13, 2011 that they needed to allow reform to take place and let their populations participate in their own governance and enjoy the fruits of their labor and the freedoms of democracy. So, please, if you are Tunisian, give our Secretary of State a chance. She will probably want to meet with leaders of civil society. She will listen to you. She is on your side.
