In democracies, we campaign in language. Candidates cannot take action until/unless they are elected to office. The implication is very clear. Whether he tries to defend his words as sarcasm or as jokes, this kind of rhetoric has no place on the presidential campaign trail. None!
Enough is enough!
Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, JFK, RFK, MLK, and attempts on TR, FDR, Ford (twice), Reagan (badly - nearly fatal) all of this not to mention the Rabin analogy which is frighteningly close. The message was very clear and enough is enough. We do not joke about assassination in this country - or anywhere!
