Question: How does the U.S. Government view former President Clinton’s role in Haiti?
Answer: The United States is pleased that the UN Secretary-General has asked former President Clinton to take on an expanded role as UN Special Envoy for Haiti. We understand that President Clinton will assume a leadership role in coordinating international aid efforts from emergency response to recovery and reconstruction in Haiti. The United States applauds this decision, and looks forward to continuing to work with former President Clinton in his expanded role.
