I just found this AP story on a news feed, and I am not sure I have words for how disconcerting I find this. I live in a city where some of these restoration projects have helped our economy, created jobs, brought in tourism, elevated awareness, especially among young people, of the history in the ground beneath our feet. I cannot imagine why the administration would end a program like this, one that two first ladies of opposing parties considered important, one that was doing good things and is not so very expensive.
Read and judge for yourself. I just cannot help but think this is very disappointing to Hillary and to Laura Bush. If they were alive, I do not think Lady Bird Johnson or Jackie Kennedy Onassis would be particularly happy either. Given Hillary Clinton's service and support, out of loyalty to her, I try very hard not to be openly critical of this administration, but this is incomprehensible.
Grants That Saved Historic Relics Now Endangered Program Helped Restore Star-Spangled Banner
It appears that people are reaching out to Michelle Obama and to Hillary to see if this program can be saved. Maybe, if you feel like I do, you might want to as well.

Contact the Secretary of State I think choosing "Secretary of State" as the topic is probably most logical.
