February 24, 2011SECRETARY CLINTON: Well, it’s such a great honor for me to welcome the prime minister and defense minister here to the United States for continuing consultations on a range of issues that are important to Timor-Leste and to the continuing efforts at consolidating the promise and results of democracy.
We are very supportive of all that Timor-Leste is doing. We want to continue to provide U.S. support for this incredibly important transition and transformation. So it is, for me, indeed, an honor to welcome you here.
PRIME MINISTER GUSMAO: Thank you, Madam Secretary. It is an honor for me on behalf of the people of Timor-Leste to come and meet with the Secretary of State and the opportunity to strengthen the already solid relations between Timor-Leste and USA. We have a good friend and (inaudible). We have had much support with your Administration (inaudible) more support in the future (inaudible).
