The Women in the World Stories and Solutions summit draws together extraordinary leaders from every field across the world and serves as a forum for an international dialogue on the success stories of women who have risen above daunting challenges.
Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of Newsweek and the Daily Beast co-hosts the event with Diane von Furstenberg, Meryl Streep, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, President of the Rockefeller Foundation Judith Rodin and Managing Director of the World Bank Dr. Ngozi Onkjo-Iweala, along with partner organizations Women for Women International, the Vital Voices Global Partnership and HP. In addition to honoring Secretary Clinton, Diane von Furstenberg will present DVF Awards to four women who have demonstrated leadership, strength and courage in their commitment to women’s causes: Elizabeth Smart, noted advocate of child abduction recovery and legislation, Taryn Davis of The American Widow Project, Sohini Chakraborty of Kolkata Sanved, and Kakenya Ntaiya of the Kakenya Center for Excellence. These four honorees will receive $50,000 in support of their continued efforts in public service from the Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation.
