Secretary Clinton to Unveil the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action: A New Public-Private Partnership to Improve Maternal and Child Health on May 3

On May 3, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will unveil a new partnership, organized with the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, between the U.S. Agency for International Development and Johnson & Johnson. Collaborating with the United Nations Foundation, the mHealth Alliance and the BabyCenter, this partnership harnesses the power of technology to improve the health of women and newborns by reaching them with quality health information.


The event will take place at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the Department of State. It will be streamed live on www.state.gov.

Secretary Clinton, USAID Deputy Administrator Don Steinberg, U.S. Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra, CEO and Chairman of Johnson & Johnson William Weldon and Founder of Every Mother Counts Christy Turlington Burns will deliver remarks at the event. A panel discussion will follow these remarks.
